"Russell joined the Bacata Food Group as our CFO at a pivotal stage in our growth. As we launched a new capital-intensive business line and scaled rapidly, he quickly became a trusted strategic partner to the leadership team.
He played a key role in securing growth capital, restructuring our financing and overall company structure. He brought clarity to the economics of an emerging operation. Beyond the technical finance work, he stayed calm and solutions-oriented when the business was going through challenging periods.
What stood out most was his ability to pair strong financial judgment with an operator's mindset — he understood the realities of running and scaling the business, not just the numbers behind it. He helped position the company for its next stage of growth."

Tribune Advisory was founded on the belief that great financial leadership shouldn't be reserved for companies with the budget for a full-time executive team.
I work with founder-led companies in the $5–30M revenue range where capital structure, acquisitions, or liquidity events are becoming central to the strategy, and where financial leadership needs to keep pace with ambition.
As a fractional CFO and corporate finance advisor, I focus on growth financing, mergers and acquisitions, and complex strategic decisions. I work closely with founders and boards on capital strategy, transaction readiness, and decision-grade forecasting, while supporting strong internal controllers or finance leaders responsible for day-to-day execution.
Across my career, I've supported merger, acquisition, divestiture, IPO, and financing transactions totalling hundreds of millions of dollars. Recent engagements include serving as CFO to multiple EY Entrepreneur of the Year winners — Salish Soils and TalkShopLive — supporting rapid growth, capital raises, and acquisition activity.
Prior to independent practice, I held senior roles with EY Corporate Finance and MNP Corporate Finance after training at EY LLP. I'm a CPA, CA, and bring a transaction-tested, operator-minded approach to CFO leadership.
Outside of work, I'm focused on my young family and an active lifestyle — especially skiing and cycling. I'm a proud Red River Métis and member of the Manitoba Métis Federation, committed to supporting Indigenous-owned and Indigenous-led businesses.
